Do you remember me? The author of the Runic Magical Academy series, a.k.a. the story about Cora Delatorre who just so happens to be a secret witch and the daughter of a serial killer?
Yeah, it's been a while. In fact, it's been so long you might've missed the fact I finished the series. (Yes, I know I should be ashamed at how bad I am at marketing). If you haven't read the full series it's on Kindle Unlimited and Amazon. I even made paperbacks! You can grab them and get all caught up by clicking the button below:
The last two years have been insanely busy. I moved to DC, moved to Maine for a week, and then landed back in Indiana. My husband was part of the government job insanity here in the U.S. so it was kind of a crazy time. Plus, I was having some severe trouble deciding what project to work on next.
Writing has always been something I've done for me, and having the opportunity to share it with the world was amazing but daunting. I didn't want to disappoint you with whatever I wrote next. So I figured, I wouldn't say anything until I had something good and concrete to say.
But it turns out, that living in fear is just like being stuck in a hamster ball. There are so many possible directions to move in, but I wasn't really committed. I don't want to operate like that anymore. So, I'm vowing (oof that's a scary word) to get my author life together. That means I'll be sending more emails, posting more on social media, and trying not to worry too much if I'm choosing the right direction for my books.
Now that I've rambled on, let me finish up with announcing that I finally completed Frankie's prequel! You can grab the novella down below. The link should take you straight to StoryOrigin, where you can download the file.
Please let me know if there are any issues, anything you want to hear from me, and thanks for being here if you decide to stick around!
One mishap with a charm and I got the opportunity of a lifetime.
Or so I thought.
Runic Academy was never meant for the likes of me, a magical dud from the coven's lowest-level family.
But when I accidentally con everyone into believing I have insane magic, the only thing to do is to keep up the act.
After all, magic is the most coveted currency in the Coven. In fact.... some people will do much more than lie for it.

JUST FOR YOU:
A sneak peek at my
next project
The working title is *drum roll* Monster Hunter. Because titles are really hard.
This idea actually came to me in a dream, and I was so excited I woke up in the middle of the night and wrote it down. Unfortunately, the note I left myself was pretty nonsensical, but the idea took on a life of it's own.
It combines all my favorite things: small towns, mystery, magic, and a main character that is both feisty and fragile. I'll share more as soon as I've got the bones nailed down.
Actually, this is the second project I've started since finishing up Cora's story (see, I haven't been completely lazy), but the other one came to a stand still, and my writing group decided to do a month long "online camp" that gave me metaphorical permission to just follow my muse. I'll be going back to the other idea eventually, but I think I need a bit more time to let that one come together.
Media I'm obsessing over...
The Vampire Diaries is one of my faves... and might be inspiring bits of my current WIP.

"The Cure" has infected me. I might never recover from this song.

Coldwire by Chloe Gong is so much fun, and so far I'm really loving the themes incorporated.

Facebook reader group
Okay, I started this group a while ago but I honestly have felt so silly posting anything, but I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone and encourage discussions—especially as I start a new series. So if you want to get in there, feel free to tell me what you'd like to see!
